A little Snow!

The boys finally got a sled that fits them. For the last 2 years we have been using an infant sled to pull them around the neighborhood! Not so easy. We built a snowman on one of the first storms, we couldn't find anything for his face so I poked grapes on him with tooth picks! The snowman keeps growing with all of the new snow and the boys keep singing tall, tall, tall.

Gabe's cousin Kyler helped him out to the bus when it was snowing. It talkes Gabe a little while to get use to the snow but now he can run in it.

Yesterday Mike and I braved the crowd at sundance. It was a lot of fun, we found lots of friends and we even survived a full day. In our old age with far and few between trips to the slopes we were impressed to still know we've got a little in us!
Mike owes his strength to P90X
A few more weeks and I might not feel comfortable taking the baby belly down a steep hill on a board. But maybe we can go just once more before then!

Christmas 2008

Our new family tradition is to make cookies on Christmas eve for Santa. So the boys helped me roll out and cut then frost cookies! It was a lot of fun but I should have made the cookies earlier, they made for a mess to clean up. Oh well. Christmas was a success. I have it on video but failed to take any still shots. Gabe got his leapster and Jace got his Tent. Our family got a wii that has been the real hit for Gabe. He is addicted to Mario Kart and can't stop talking about it. Constantly he is telling me about how he won the race. At first I couldn't watch him play because it drove me crazy, now he usually gets 5th or 6th place. For sure he is better than me, I'm still getting 12th. We have decided to put a time limit on his play time and then he can earn or lose time by doing different things. I think this will be a great bribery tool. Mike has started counting 1, 2 wii. Gabe won't get to wii!

Santa is here!

Did you know Santa comes to town on a helicopter? Me neither, but the day after thanksgiving he did. We waited in the cold for a good 1/2 hour for the late Santa. He made his appearance and it was fun hanging out with family. Next year we will definitely dress warmer!

Happy Thanksgiving!

So much to be thankful for. We are so blessed. At this time for those of you who don't know I will share that I feel thankful that I have been given another chance to have another baby. I lost one in July and I looked forward to the time I could be pregnant again. So now I am and due June 23rd. It feels forever away and I am counting down the nausea. Gabe broke his foot the first of November and it hasn't slowed him down one bit. He didn't walk on it for a week, then he hobbled, then he ran. We are hoping for only one more week with the boot. Lucky for all of us the doctor didn't cast it!
Thanksgiving morning JoJo and I woke up to run the Turkey Trot so we could eat the rest of the day. It was a rainy morning but ended up being great and we were overdressed.

Pilgrams looking off at the Mayflower

The cutest little pilgram I have ever seen. Gabe made this get up at school and I made him model it for me. I love paper outfits!

So here is a cute picture of Gabe hiding in the cupboard when we first moved into our house. He's only one and sooooo chubby. Yum, squish him. I tag Brit, Terri, Kathy, and Kelli

He takes it all in stride

So on Tuesday we were running a few eronds and finished our last one at the fabric store. On our way out the kids were being so cute and we were all holding hands in a row just minding our own business. Gabe was kind of skipping and then. . . a speed bump jumped out and down he went. The cry was a winded shriek and I knew something was wrong. When we got home I took off his sock and his foot was all swollen. We took him to the doctor and he ordered an x-ray. A few hours later 3 broken bones in his left foot was the verdict. He is such a trooper and never complained of pain after the first day. His main reason for crying was he didn't want to go to the doctor. He's been in a boot since Friday and today at church he walked by himself for the first time since Tuesday. I am sure impressed with the good spirits he is in.

A family of GHOSTS!

So when I asked Gabe what he wanted to be he said a Ghost. So how easy and fun to make a family of ghosts. Mike wasn't too excited and got dressed for the picture but then promplty took off the costume!. My face is now paying for this day of white junk, but it was fun.

FALL FUN

Thanksgiving point is always full of fun!Jace's favorite part was the maze which he came out with a big gash on his nose that turned into a black eye.

Random picture in the middle, Gabe made pumpkin cookies and he thought it was so much fun!
Another random, Jace helped me rake up leaves when it was warm and instantly jumped in them. I asked him where he learned that and he said "Little Bear"
Back to Thanksgiving point waiting for the cornbelly to open
Gabe's favorite part, why am I not suprised!
Voted best dad!

Snicker Doodles

So Mike has been requesting these tasty treats for a while and I finally gave in. I love to bake but it really only hits me in the fall time so now our house can be filled with the smell of homemade good! Once again Gabe was at Grammys house so he didn't get to play but Jace sure had fun. I have always admired mothers with the patience to let their kids help in the kitchen. So I am learning to make it a fun experience for both of us. Jace dumped all of the ingredients in after I measured them, then he was the one to turn the machine on and off.
Then the fun part about snicker doodles is rolling them in Cin. Sugar. Jace thought this part was the best. He got his fingers all sticky and spilled a little sugar, "that's ok mom, sticky. . . that's ok." He is teaching me so much patience and I am learning that sometimes I need to give in and not be the one in charge. Yes, it's ok if we spill or have sticky hands. I can clean it up later.
My challenges with a 2 year old are in full bloom. I am learning and I sure do love the little dude. I just wish he could hold off on the wine.

Snicker Doodles
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cream of tarter
2 1/2 c. flour
Roll in Cinnamon and sugar
Bake at 400* for 8-10 min.

Cinderella Cinderella

I made this for Amaya's birthday party tomorrow. It was a lot of fun to make and I think I got it down, so if anyone is in the mood for a princess cake give me a call! (way cuter in person)

Pumpkins

For Family night we took the kids to the pumpkin patch to pick out their favorite pumpkin. Always a lot of fun in October. I am looking forward to the good times at Thanksgiving point this weekend! We love the Scarecrow festival and the corn maze there. The whole reason for this outing was for a few pictures!
